Quick and Easy Knifty Knitter Loom Scarf
This was the sixth scarf I made with the Knifty Knitter loom. I made two other scarves exactly like this one except for the colors, which were selected to match the school colors of the recipients.
"School Color Scarf" details:
Used the shortest of the Knifty Knitter long looms, pictured above. Used all 12 pegs on each side. I don't know the name of the stitch I used, so I will have to update with that information later.
Yarn used: **to be updated**
The finished scarf was 188 stitches long, in alternating color bands of 8 and 4 stitches. It was approximately 70 inches long and 4 inches wide.
Thoughts for next time:
I think it ended up just a tiny bit too skinny for my preferences. I think maybe 14 pegs would have given a better width. With one strand of worsted weight yarn, the knit does have a loose look, but I think two strands would have made it too stiff. Because it was double-knit, the scarf feels pretty thick and is not "holey"despite the loose knit.
First (test) post
I designed this blog to be an online journal of my knitting projects. I wanted an organized way to record details of my projects such as yarn color and type, equipment used, project duration, and any critiques or ideas to improve similar projects in the future. A free online blog seemed like a better solution than physical notebooks or computer files that can be misplaced, and it will let me access the information from anywhere. If anyone else stumbles upon this information and finds it useful, then I'll be glad to have helped a little!
